Yesterday I purchased Sims Castaway DS. I’ve always had troubles getting into games, but this one is really fun. Or at least it was until I got stuck. I don’t have the knife needed to make many of the items. I need a boat to get to the other island, and while I found something that will be used as the boat…..I can’t do anything with it (perhaps cuz I don’t have the knife?) I also can’t fulfill the help requests from three of the characters on the main island..until I get the boat. Gotta get to another island to get the mango for the one lady before she’ll let me get seeds to plant the fruit that the guy wants for his dish, and I can’t make the dish the dr wants until I get the ingredients for it…which of course require the unknown knife.
AGGGGHHHH!
I’ve been all up and down the islands, wondering if there’s one teeny little spot I failed to tap on that will produce the needed fruit. But I have to say, my frustration level is getting pretty high and knowing me, if I don’t find some kind of solution soon, I may give up on the game. But I don’t want to give up because other than this problem, I LOVE the game!!!
If anyone out there reads this and knows the solution, please tell me!! Just remember, this is the DS version which is not like the Wii nor PS2….and apparently not like the PSP either.
edited to add: ok, starting looking more in depth into the book and what the dr offers. It turns out that to do the canoe i need to get the hammer, but i have to make the hammer. The dr has a hammer handle to trade. So I’m off to go fishing and bug hunting to get the fish and bug that she wants for the hammer handle. (I have the other stuff she’s asking for it.)
