Here’s my handwritten notes from earlier today. I wanted to get it written out before I lost the feeling.
Been doing some relaxation (blinking, breathing, acupressure, closing eyes, taking a break after each page) and some movement and centralizing practice. Reading a fiction book, break after each page or 2, centralizing on something in the distance or not so distance (5-8ft). I looked up from the page I was reading and noticed that the far wall’s flowers (wall paper) were looking clear. Then I looked up at the wall chart on the door and clearly saw the E, no extra lines in it, as well as the F and P of the 2nd line, and the 3rd line’s T O Z. I didn’t think much of it, cuz I figured I was just closer to the chart than 4 feet. So I looked at the 4 foot line location and saw that I was actually further out than it. So I quickly got up and went to the 6 foot line and saw the E clearly (no lines), 2nd and 3rd lines. Walked to the 4 foot line and had no question about the 4th line’s P, and was able to get the 5th line’s P only sligly whacked (white line running through the letters due to astimatism…i think).
Said “Holy Shit!” and figured I’d better write this down quickly as signing in to computer would take too long.
Oh God, I hope that this was for real and not some trick of my mind. I don’t believe it’s a trick, though, cuz the centralizing on my walks and rests have…opened my eyes, so to say.
Centralizing isn’t as stressful now (except when the sun is bright), and my brain and eyes seem to be connecting better … like, I’m scanning points with my eyes, and my brain pops up clearer images of the scene not in central focus. Like the pebbles on the road and the needles on an evergreen branch, or the leaves of the grass.
While at one corner, I saw a tree at the end of the street (opposite end). I knew there was supposed to be a tree unlike the others around it (it’s more of a bluish color, and smaller, but fuller…different kind of tree), and I centralized on the top half of it, bouncing focus around that area. Beyond the central position though, I noticed horizontal lines in the bottom half that seemed to line up with the electronic lines above the point. So I started centralizing on the electric lines and the lines of the bottom half of the tree. It seemed like maybe a fence was there. But I know from experience (walking past it almost every day) tha there is no fence there. So I started centralizing on the lines and my brain finally kicked in and said it was the branch levels that evergreens have, and THEN, I began centralizing and scanning (sketching) those line areas. I did begin seeing the individual branch sections but this might have been due to my now being a couple of houses closer to the tree than before. But seriously, I don’t recall SEEING as much detal without glasses before, and with glasses I tended to ignore it anyways.
Also, as I read the book, I’ve been able to slowly push it further from my eyes which forces me to centralize more, and then I realize I can push it out a little further. If this keeps up, I may have to put the book on a bookstand on a box so I can sit a little further back. How nice would THAT be??? (except for the having to turn the page, lol)
And then I drew a large smiley face that had big round eyes.
The rest of the day was with blurry vision and some doubling from the astigmatism. Honestly, if it wasn’t for that astigmatism, I think that I wouldn’t test as nearsighted as I do. I’d be very happy if I, at the least, had no astigmatism further complicating my eyesight. After that, I think it would just be a matter of increasing the distance my eyes can centralize to until there’s no more improvement. I don’t mind the idea of wearing reduced glasses for driving purposes. But I’d like to have some kind of decent vision for every day vision without having to use prescriptive lenses nor any other aid. Just my natural eyes.
