The past few days have been harsh. The lower right side of my mouth is swollen. I’ve got a sideways growing wisdom tooth pushing up against a cracked up molar that needs a root canal. It’s all swollen up and I can barely open my mouth to slurp soup. Sleep is difficult as well. The soonest I could get an appt with the dentist is Monday. Though yesterday they did finally agree to fit me in on Saturday. Not to do any dental work, though. Just to take a look at the area, say that it’s swollen and can’t be worke don until it goes down, and then prescribe me some antibiotics and maybe (i hope) some pain numbing. Oh, and I’m to call them if it swells up. Uh, it’s already swollen up.
I am considering calling my regular doctor (not dentist) to see if he’ll see me today and make the antibiotic prescription for me (and maybe the pain numbing one too) so that I can get a real appointment with the dentist to get all four wisdom teeth extracted, and the 1-2 root canals done, and a deep cleaning maybe (while I’m under general anesthesia…I freak out dentists if I’m awake and they are working on my teeth….poor dentists!!). The sooner I can get this stuff done, the sooner I can recover from it all. And the less distraction from eyesight improving and house decluttering.
*sigh* even crying about the pain hurts too much to actually do!!
