No Primary Back Stretching for Me

This morning, after M went to school, my neighbor and I walked around a short block and then went to her house to work on the T-Tapp Primary Back Stretch.  We went as far as step 3.  I can’t figure out how in the world one is supposed to have the upper body in a flat horizontal position, KLT leg stance (knees bent over toes, knees to little toe), straighten one leg…even a bit, and not have the hips alter their position… horizontal line wise.  It seems impossible to me.

Anyways, so I got home, went for one of the long block walks (since the snow had finally melted..yeah!…oh, and no jarring of the teeth either!!).  Then ate a banana.  Then tried to figure out the other steps from the book.

What I tried wound up hurting my neck.  I got as far as ending step 5.  So I reread everything, redid my notes which turned out almost exactly the same as the first set, and tried again.  This time not just a neck ache, but a headache as well.  So I stopped again at the end of step 5.

I’ve decided that I am not going to attempt the Primary Back Stretch again until I get a chance to view a video of it being done as well as the video instructions.

However, tomorrow I’ll be doing HoeDowns as well as learning the Plie Sequence.  So it’s not as if I’m giving up or anything just because of one exercise that I could’ve been doing wrong.

Today was Nature-made day.  I had a banana for breakfast.  A few hours later I had an egg omelate with chopped turkey, salsa, and cheese.  Ok, so cheese isn’t nature-made.  For dinner we had mashed peas, chopped frozen carrots (the carrots were heated up, but frozen ones are softer to eat than fresh carrots, and soft is what I needed), and shredded pot roast.  I couldn’t enjoy the meat because I couldn’t chew it that well.  It took me forever to eat.  And next time I do mashed peas, I’ll mix it with a little bit of mashed potatoes to give it more of that texture.  Though, I think mashed peas will actually make a decent soup base by boiling it up and thinning it out with water or stock.

We’re still a bit hungry though.  So for evening snack they’ll probably have popcorn and I’ll have an apple or such.
