November 2008 Lifestyle Goals:
- Improving the Kaizen way: Regularly ask myself what one small thing can I do right now to improve [something], and then taking that one small step.
- Perhaps make a list of areas in my life/environment that need improvement. Such as Nutrition, Health, Home, Relationships, & Hobby/Interest of the moment.

Wow, is November really over?? Ouch.
Ok, well, the first half of November was spent sick. Both halves of November were also spent with a very hurt lower back. I could barely walk, and getting up and down out of chair/floor was a pain…literally. There were a few times that I laughed because while laying on the floor and trying to stretch my back out, while also trying to relax the tight muscles, I’d wind up kind of like a turtle in that I couldn’t figure out how to get up. Either because I’d finally gotten the muscles to relax and sorta forgot how to use them, or because no matter which way I’d move, it would hurt like hell.
I wound up purchasing a lumbar extender. That helps a little. Very painful to use right now. In fact, I can’t use it on the floor. I have to use it on my bed so that the curve isn’t so deep. (it pushes into my bed deeper than the rest of my body, hence, easing the curve) This has helped a little bit in decompressing some of the lower spine. Now the nerves are only pinched a few times instead of all day. But the muscles are definitely tight tight tight. This whole back issue has been very very annoying, and I even get angry about it a number of times.
However, thankfully, the goals I set for this month weren’t over-reaching myself. I didn’t do the Kaizen question even half as often as my goal had been. However, I did do little things once in a while that would improve the home or such. I didn’t make my list which was the second goal there.
My daughter’s been required to do two small things in order to get 30 minutes on the computer. If she does four small things, she gets an hour. If she does laundry, then each laundry step counts for 30 minutes. We’ve set a timer by her computer. She does cheat, often, but in all honesty, her bathroom and bedroom have been the “cleanest” they’ve ever been from her own cleaning.
December will probably get similar goals.
